Juniata College will host a free carnival for small children from newborns up to third-graders from 10 a.m. to noon April 7 at the Intramural Gym in the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center.

"There will be all types of games and crafts," says Jenell Patton, director of service learning and volunteer programs at Juniata College. "There also will be age-appropriate activities and shows during the event."

Patton says a shuttle service will be provided starting at 9 a.m. that will stop at the Crawford Apartments in Huntingdon and Harmony Terrace and Chestnut Terrace in Mount Union. The shuttle will start its return trip at noon.

For further information, please call Jenell Patton at (814) 641-3365.

Refreshments include sno-cones, cotton candy and popcorn. Activities scheduled for the event include a fish pond, face painting and constructing and decorating houses made from cardboard.

Patton says all children must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian or they cannot attend. The carnival is sponsored by Head Start, Rotary International and the Juniata College Community Service Board.
