Pollinator Habitat Restoration at Sparks Farm - June 24 & 25, 2022
June 24, 2022
- 12:00 p.m. - Arrive at Juniata Campus
- 1:25 p.m. - Arrive at Sparks Farm
- Pollinator habitat restoration pre-sampling activities: Trapping and identifying existing local pollinator species on the Juniata Sparks’ Farm Restoration Area with Dr.’s Uma Ramakrishnan and Dennis Johnson, and the Juniata ESS Student Summer Research Crew.
- 4:30 p.m. - Rest and cooling off in the Juniata river.
Activities will include dinner, swimming, fishing, kayaking, disc golf, and a campfire.
Overnight Accommodations: Primitive tent Camping at Sparks Farm (weather accommodation
at Grove Farm).
*Please note that this camping experience does not have modern bathrooms.

Boat Survey of Raystown Lake at Raystown Field Station - July 8 & 9, 2022

- 12:00 p.m. - Arrive at Juniata campus
- 1:00 p.m. - Arrive at Raystown Field Station
- Boat Survey of Raystown Lake for ecological conditions and invasive species with Dr. Charles Yohn, RFS team and the Juniata ESS Student Summer Research Crew.
- 4:30 p.m. - Rest and cooling off in the lake.
Activities will include: dinner, swimming, fishing, kayaking, and a campfire.
Overnight accommodations: Tent camping (weather accommodation at Grove Farm)
July 9, 2022
- Morning - hiking and exploration on the Raystown trails
- 10:00 a.m. - Depart for Campus
*Students staying on for Summer Orientation & Academic Registration will coordinate with Campus Life for campus accommodation on the night of July 9.
