HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College Choral Union will present "Dettigen Te Deum," a mass by George Frederic Handel, at its spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, in Rosenberger Auditorium in Oller Hall on the Juniata College campus.

There is a $5 general admission charge. Tickets are available at the door.

The 45-minute choral work was written by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) to commemorate the Battle of Dettigen, where British forces defeated French forces in the War of Austrian Succession. The Choral Union will be accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra. The conductor of the Choral Union is Russell Shelley, Elma Stine Heckler Assistant Professor of Music at Juniata College.

Four soloists will perform with the ensemble. They are Norene Ferris, soprano; Nin Hiles, tenor; Janice Miller, mezzo-soprano and a soloist with the State College Choral Society and the Pennsylvania Chamber Chorale; and James White, bass and lecturer in music at Juniata College.

The Choral Union is the largest choral ensemble at Juniata with a student membership of more than 90 and more than 50 members from communities in the Huntingdon area. The Juniata Choral Union traditionally performs larger choral works.
