HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Wesley College (Del.) scored twice in the second half and posted a 2-0 win over Juniata College, in field hockey action Thursday afternoon on Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon, Pa.

Stephanie Johnson scored an unassisted goal with 21:50 remaining in the second half, with Samantha Marconi adding an insurance goal with 1:40 showing on the clock. Ashley Kisner was credited with the assist on Marconi's goal.

Juniata had a chance to take a lead early in the first half, when the Eagles were awarded a penalty stroke barely eight minutes into the game. Eagle midfielder Erin Smith (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) took the stroke, but her attempt was stopped by Wolverine goalie Sarah Johnson.

Juniata outshot Wesley 14-9, and has a 10-8 advantage in penalty corner opportunities. The Eagles outshot the Wolverines 10-5 in the first half alone.

Eagle goalie Abby Funk (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) recorded three saves in her 70 minutes in the Juniata cage, while Joyce Eveleth (State College, Pa./State College Area) made a pair of defensive saves. Johnson, who was injured early in the first half but stayed in the game, finished with seven saves. Kisner, Richa'd Johnson, and Amber Tank were credited with defensive saves for Wesley.

Juniata plays its final regular season contest on Saturday, Nov. 1, when it hosts Goucher College for a Landmark Conference match on Winton Hill Field. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
