ALTOONA, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's cross country team had seven runners post sub-27 minute times, including two under 26 minutes, on its way to a second place finish out of 11 squads at the Juniata College Eagle Invitational, held Saturday at Fort Roberdeau Park near Altoona, Pa.

The women's team finished third out of nine teams at the event, led by Laura Rupprecht (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) who completed the 5 km course in 10th place with a time 20:37.

Two other Juniata women's runners finished in the top 20: Aubrey Cyphert (North East, Pa./Seneca) was 15th in a time of 21:02, while Meghan Jones (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) was 20th with a time of 21:16.

Rounding out Juniata's top seven runners were Danielle Brooks (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg) in 21st place (21:21), Jessica Koenig (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) in 24th position (21:33), Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) in 30th place (21:48), and Anne Wakabayashi (El Cajon, finishing 39th (22:36).

The men's squad was paced by Sam Williams (Roaring Spring, Pa./Central) and Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin), who both ran under 26 minutes with times of 25:22 and 25:59 respectively. Williams finished second overall, while Parker was 10th.

Matt Bailey (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) was 13th overall with a time of 26:04, while Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa./Oil City) ran 20th in a time of 26:38.
Tripp Rudolph (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) was 23rd (26:45), Kevin Donahue (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) was 24th (26:51), and Steve Schmitt (New Providence, Pa./Solanco) was 27th overall (26:56).

The Juniata cross country squads will compete next weekend at the Gettysburg College Invitational in Gettysburg, Pa.
