WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Catholic University's Ro Dixon broke a scoreless tie with 9:35 remaining to lead the Cardinals to a 1-0 win over Juniata College, in a Landmark Conference field hockey match on Saturday in Washington, D.C.

Dixon scored on a penalty corner, with Carley Walko earning the assist for the Cardinals.

Catholic outshot Juniata 20-2, with both team's shots equally divided by half. The Cardinals also had a 14-5 advantage in penalty corners.

Juniata goalie Abby Funk (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) registered eight saves in the Eagle cage, by freshman back Meghan McGlone (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) had a pair of defensive saves.

Marian Cassilly finished with two saves in the Catholic goal, with both scoring attempts coming from Juniata's Erin Smith (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra).

The Eagles will play three times next week, starting with a Landmark Conference match at Susquehanna University on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Juniata then opens a five-game homestand to finish the season, hosting Alvernia University on Thursday, Oct. 9, followed by Drew University on Saturday, Oct. 11.
