CARLISLE, Pa. -- The Juniata College field hockey squad opened a stretch of three games in four days with a 2-1 loss to Dickinson College, Wednesday afternoon in Carlisle, Pa. The Eagles (1-2) trailed 1-0 at the half following Lizzie Boorse's goal for Dickinson with 8:31 remaining in the opening frame. The Red Devils (1-2) grabbed a 2-0 advantage barely five minutes into the second half on another marker by DC's Katelynn Bias. Juniata finally got on the scoreboard with 1:28 remaining in the contest, when Paula Price (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro) scored with an assist going to Jenn Moss (Barrington, R.I./Barrington). Senior Abby Funk (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) played a total of 51 minutes in goal, allowing one goals with two saves. Sophomore Moira Nugent (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) was in the cage for the other 19 minutes, and also allowed one goal with a pair of saves. Dani Stump (Newport, Pa./Newport) was credited with one defensive save during the contest. Dickinson goalie Amanda West stopped six shots over her 70 minutes in the Red Devil cage, while allowing the one Juniata goal. Dickinson outshot Juniata 11-7, and was awarded 15 penalty corners to Juniata's one. The Eagles return to action on Friday, Sept. 5, when they face Union College in a game played in Oneonta, N.Y. Juniata will they battle Oneonta State on Saturday, Sept. 6. -30-
