Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College senior track and field standout Randy Anderson (DuBoi/DuBois) has been selected as the 2007 MASCAC Men\'s Indoor Track & Field Scholar Athlete. The conference awards one senior in each sport for each season as its top scholar athlete based on success on the field and in the classroom. Anderson becomes the fourth Juniata athlete to earn Scholar Athlete recognition since the conference began awarding the honor for each sport prior to the 2005-2006 academic year. Anderson is in the midst of one of the finest track and field careers in Juniata history. During the indoor track season, be became just the fourth male track and field athlete to earn All-America recognition when he placed sixth at the NCAA Championships in the 55-meter dash. Anderson is a two-time MAC Champion in the 55 having won the race at the conference championships in 2005 and 2007. He established a new conference record while winning the 55 this past season, and he was also the conference champion in the long jump. He captured first-team All-Conference honors in indoor track as a sophomore, junior and senior. Anderson has also excelled in outdoor track during his career where he holds the Juniata record in both the 100 and 200. He\'s the defending conference champion in the 100 and has also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships as a sophomore and a junior. In the classroom Anderson has a cumulative GPA of 3.3.39 on a 4.0 scale with one semester remaining. He has been selected to MASCAC Academic Honor Roll five times in his career, three times during the winter season and twice during the spring. Anderson is pursuing a degree in criminal justice and hopes to work for the state police after graduation. ###
