Huntingdon, PA - The Juniata College field hockey team enjoyed another successful season in 2005 and was rewarded with three spots on the Commonwealth Conference All-Conference Team, as voted by the league's eight head coaches. Senior midfielder Elise Zimmerman (Cumberland Valley/Boiling Springs) was one of 11 players named to the All-Conference first team, while junior defender Cory Hamblet (South Carroll/Westminster, Md.) and sophomore forward Kim Wagner (Middletown/Middletown) were both picked for the second team. It marks the fourth-consecutive season the Eagles have placed at least three players on the All-Conference Team.

Zimmerman, who was a second-team honoree last season, claims first-team recognition for the first time in her career. She ranked as one of Juniata's most productive offensive players in 2005, while also contributing defensively from her midfield position as she led the team with three defensive saves. She finished the season tied for second on the team with four goals, which matched her career high. She also passed out four assists, which was also tied for second on the team. Her four assists this season gave her 14 for her career, which ties her for the fifth-highest career total in the program's history. Zimmerman notched eight goals and 14 assists in her career, good for 30 points.

Hamblet earns All-Conference honors for the first time in her career. The junior was an anchor for Juniata's defense as she played and started all 19 matches for the Eagles. With her contributions the team allowed just 32 goals, while limiting foes to slightly more than 11 shots per match. Hamblet's play helped Juniata's defense record three shutouts in 2005, while surrendering a goals against average of 1.55 which ranked fifth in the conference. The Eagles allowed one goal or less in 11 of their 19 matches this season with Hamblet keying that defensive effort.

Wagner followed up a freshman season in which she was a second-team All-Conference choice and the Conference Rookie of the Year by continuing to provide a big offensive punch for the Eagles. She led the team in goals with nine while adding four assists which tied for second on the team. She also paced the team with 22 points. She enjoyed one remarkable stretch in which she tallied at least one goal in eight-consecutive matches, including the decisive goal in three one-goal victories. In just two seasons Wagner already ranks fifth in the program's history with 25 career goals, and her 55 career points is tied for ninth on the Juniata career charts.

Juniata closed the 2005 season with an 8-11 record and finished just one game out of the Commonwealth Conference postseason. The Eagles established a new program record for the longest winning streak as the team ripped off seven-consecutive victories in the middle of the season.
