Huntingdon, Pa.? The Juniata College women?s tennis team snapped a two-match losing streak in resounding fashion as the Eagles downed Frostburg State 9-0 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon in Huntingdon. Juniata improved to 3-2 on the season, while Frostburg State fell to 0-7 with the loss.

Juniata has won each of its three matches by perfect 9-0 scores, all of them non-conference outings. Juniata claimed a pair of the matches without dropping a game. Molly Coursey (Westminster/Hanover) posted a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win at the fourth singles position. Also winning without dropping a game was Megan Carpenter (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) who posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at sixth singles.

Ashley Andrews (Altoona/Altoona) captured her team-leading fourth singles win of the season with a 6-4, 6-3 win at first singles. Caroline Weisser (York Suburban/York) swept the first set to post a 6-0, 6-1 win at the second singles spot. Ye Kyung Kwon (Cumberland Valley/Enola) rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles and Sarah Roby (Red Land/Lewisberry) completed the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth singles.

Juniata also controlled the doubles action winning all three matches. Andrews and Weisser posted an 8-0 victory at first doubles to start the match. Coursey and Kwon teamed for an 8-1 win at second doubles while Roby and Carpenter also won by an 8-1 score.

Juniata will get another shot at a conference opponent on Saturday when the Eagles travel to take on Albright.
