Juniata 3, Moravian 0

Bethlehem, Pa. ? The Juniata women?s volleyball team claimed its seventh-straight victory as the Eagles topped conference foe Moravian 3-0 in Bethlehem Tuesday evening. Juniata topped the Greyhounds by game scores of 30-12, 30-13 and 30-13. Juniata upped its record to 16-2 overall and 3-0 in the Commonwealth Conference. Moravian dropped to 9-7 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.

Juniata controlled the match with an effective service game and strong defense. The Eagles finished with 48 digs and 18 serve aces in the match. Juniata defense limited the Greyhounds to an -.013 attack percentage for the match.

Erin Wisor (Altoona/Altoona) paced the service attack with four aces, while Aly Pompeani (Hopewell/Aliquippa) and Katie Charles (Manheim Township/Lancaster) each added three aces in the match.

Defensively five Eagles finished with six digs to lead the team effort. Stephanie Kines (Towson/Towson, Md.), Carli Dale (Cochranton/Cochranton), Kelly Popernik (Bartlett/Bartlett, Il.), Abby Leonard (Shade/Johnstown) and Tara McMinn (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) all finished with six digs.

Charles was the top attacker in the match as she finished with eight kills and a .368 attack percentage. Kines added six kills to the Eagle attack.

Juniata will return to action on Friday when the Eagles host non-conference opponent Springfield.
