Assistant Professor of English

Juniata College, a highly ranked liberal arts college of 1,600 students located in the scenic Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania, invites applications for a one year, sabbatical replacement position in the Professional Writing Program with an anticipated start date of August 2018. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and interactive instructional pedagogy. Important accomplishments include a strong record of teaching effectiveness and experience teaching Professional Writing courses.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated faculty working in a student-focused and teaching-centered small liberal arts setting with an active center for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Teaching load is a 3-3 and includes First Year Composition, Introduction to Professional Writing, Writing Across Media, and three upper-level writing elective courses.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD or ABD in Composition, Rhetoric, Writing Studies, or Professional/Technical Writing. Evidence of strong teaching of undergraduate courses, such as those listed above or similar. Desired Qualifications: Evidence of ability to meet the needs of diverse student populations and/or to reach out to diverse communities.
