Reporting to the Director of Residential Life, the Associate Director will have responsibility for the daily procedures relevant to the student housing operation for Juniata College. The Associate Director will play a vital role in developing a robust residential experience that meets the developmental needs of the students. The Associate Director is also responsible for a number of data entry processes, to include: housing assignments, room changes, meal plan changes, student withdrawal/leave of absence, student re-admission, etc.

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities include:

Shared responsibility with the Director to create a culture of student success through the effective delivery of student friendly, integrated services; assist with marketing housing options, the assignment process, and meal plans to students and parents.
Oversee the assurance that safe, clean and well-maintained housing services are provided to students (including student housing accommodations, amenities, etc.); maintain regular communication with the Facilities Office and external vendors (OCM, Continental, etc.).
Confirms that all room assignments and meal plans billing are accurate and communicated to students, the Bursar’s office, and Parkhurst.
Work with the Bursar, Registrar, and Dean of Students Offices to track and monitor attendance issues as they relate to housing students; confirm student assignments with the residence hall staff each semester to verify residence.
Gather and record data for occupancy reports each semester; assist the Director in assessing off-campus exemption requests, retention, and projection trends.
Plan and implement the annual housing selection process (room draw); administer new student housing application and coordinate assignments, taking into account requests for roommates, locations, and lifestyle preferences.
Maintain Datatel database and Blackboard (soon to be Adirondack Solutions) that holds the housing assignments/meal plan, and update the student directory; collaborate with the Public Safety Office to maintain the BASIS lock system.
Work in cooperation with the Director to select, train, supervise and evaluate professional, and student staff in all areas of housing and residential life.
Work with the Director to maintain all Residential Life budgets; distribute and allocate cash advances, reimbursements, etc.;
Prepare, update and send announcements in regards to break and summer housing; assign and maintain student housing for breaks during the academic year and summer school.
Coordinate all aspects of the early arrival process for students sponsored to return early.
Oversee and manage the residential room key inventory and key distribution.
Perform duties relevant to the position and as assigned by the Director of Residential Life.
Qualifications:

Works independently within established policies and procedures. Must work cooperatively with diverse individuals and customers. Proficient with all systems associated with the operation. Must maintain data integrity of the student housing information system. Knowledge and capabilities normally acquired through a high school diploma, business school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
