Tim Hughes

Tim was trained at the state academy at the Ross Lefler School of Conservation Law Enforcement Academy and was employed as a Deputy Wildlife Conservation Officer for the Pennsylvania Game Commission. In 2004, Tim pursued further education as a cadet in the 120 Municipal Police Academy at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he was awarded the most outstanding cadet in the class. He has worked for the Mt Union Police Department as a part-time Patrol Officer and has served on the Huntingdon County Drug Task Force.

Tim’s areas of expertise include:

  • self-defense techniques
  • verbal judo and de-escalation techniques
  • conducting fair and equitable investigations
  • assessing situations and individuals for risk of violence
  • community-oriented policing ,trauma informed policing and supporting victims of domestic violence, stalking and sexual assaults
  • use of force instructor
  • state certified emergency medical responder
