In 1985, Reverend Dr. Andy Murray made history as the first person to swim the newly formed Raystown Lake, all to raise awareness and funds for the Baker Institute. What began as a playful bet with former colleague Clayton Pheasant turned into a remarkable 20-mile swim, raising over $70,000 for the Institute. To honor this legendary achievement, join us at the Raystown Field Station for a memorable recreation—a refreshing polar plunge! Warm up afterward with a hearty breakfast, a roaring fire, and enjoy the beauty of Raystown with opportunities for boating and exploration.
