To help alleviate systemic poverty and improve health outcomes in underserved communities by increasing health literacy through the education and empowerment of youth.
Goals
- Increase health literacy, an individual’s ability to obtain and understand basic health information
- Educate youth about how to proactively address their health needs and access resources
- Provide a sense of empowerment for those who participate in the program to work to solve health and community related issues
