Huntingdon, PA ? Juniata College placed 47 athletes on the Middle Atlantic Corporation (MAC) All-Academic team for the fall sports season. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior, have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have completed the fall sports season still in good standing on their team.

Juniata?s 47 athletes were the fifth-most among the MAC schools and was third among football playing institutions in the MAC. Juniata had players named from each of their eight fall varsity sports.

Juniata?s football team led the way for the Eagles, with 12 players from the Eagle gridiron unit being tabbed for the team. Seniors Craig Moshier (Coudersport/Coudersport) and Brian White (Indian Hills/Midland Park, N.J.) were named to the unit, as were a host of juniors as Allan Barch (Brookville/Brookville), P.J. Brown (Central Cambria/Ebensburg), Matt Garner (Bellwood-Antis/Tyrone) received the honor. Rounding out the football group were sophomores Nathan Greczek (Bishop Carroll/Cresson), Daniel Heinlein (Bishop Carroll/Cresson), Nate Irwin (Curwensville/Curwensville), Stephen Parsons (Blackhawk/Beaver Falls) and Peter Thomas (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg).

Juniata?s women?s cross country team placed eight players on the conference team, among just 13 eligible performers on their roster. Erin Bachman (Greece Odyssey/Rochester, N.Y.), Heather Gibney (Palmyra Area/Elizabethtown), Linda Maus (Woodland Hills/Pittsburgh) and Stephanie Rynkewitz (Lewistown/Lewistown) were the senior representatives. A trio of sophomores rounded out the group with Nancy Hayes (Westminster/Westminster, Md.), Katey Glunt (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) and Susan Trainor (Piscatawney/Piscatawney) each being recognized for the first time.

Juniata?s record-breaking field hockey team had six players earn a spot on the team. Senior Dana Groff (Solanco/Quarryville) caps her career with the honor. Juniors Grace McCluskey (West Perry/Elliotsburg), Billie Rickenbaugh (East Juniata/McAlisterville) and Melonie Sappe? (Dallas/Shavertown) made the squad, as did sophomore Sara Roux (Lewistown/Lewistown, Me.).

Five members of the Juniata men?s cross country team earned the All-Academic honor. Senior Christopher Belinda (Oley Valley/Westfield, Mass.) and junior Jason Freeman (Thornton/Thornton, Co.) were the lone upperclassmen selected. Adam Loser (Central York/York), James Serfass (Wellsboro/Wellsboro) and Michael Vella (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg) were sophomore representatives to the team.

The Eagle women?s soccer team also placed five members on the team. Jennifer Hurley (Lyndonville Central/Newfield, N.Y.) was the lone senior on the unit. Joining her was junior Emily Miller (Penns Valley/Coburn) and sophomores Carrie Burkholder (Shippensburg/Shippensburg), Emily O?Donnell (Spring-Ford/Royersford) and Desiree Wagner (Harbor Creek/Erie).

A pair of teams placed four players on the conference team. The Eagles women?s volleyball program saw senior Johanna Holtan (Fargo North/Fargo, N.D.) earn a spot. She was joined by three juniors as Carli Dale (Cochranton/Cochranton), Erin Wisor (Altoona/Altoona) and Lindsey Habel (Glen Oak/Canton, Ohio) all earned a spot.

The women?s tennis team also placed four members on the squad, with senior Deborah Mensch (Salisburg/New Tripoli) leading the way. Stephanie Shaver (Central Cambria/Ebensburg) and Elizabeth Cooney (Forest Hills/South Fork) were named to the team from the junior class, and sophomore Lindsey DiPaola (Cumberland Valley/Mechanicsburg) rounded out the unit.

Finally, the Eagle men?s soccer program saw three of its athletes earn a spot. Matthew Raup (Meadowbrook Christian/Danville) was selected from the junior class, and sophomores Chris Fanelli (Norwich/McDonough) and Jeff Gehring (Exeter Township/Reading) completed the squad.
