BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Despite dominating in rebounds and barely edging the Greyhounds in turnovers committed, the Juniata College women's basketball could not seem to find a shooting rhythm as they trailed Landmark Conference opponent Moravian College 91-73, Saturday afternoon at Johnston Hall.

Juniata (10-6, 3-2 Landmark) shot a disappointing 30.9 percent from the floor, yet made 73.1 percent of its free throws. The Eagles grabbed 50 rebounds and gave up the ball 20 times, while the Greyhounds totaled 42 rebounds and had 21 turnovers. Juniata turned Moravian's turnovers into 16 points, while Moravian capitalized 24 points off of Juniata's mistakes. Moravian (9-6, 4-1 Landmark) shot 51.7 percent from the floor and made 73.3 percent of its free throws.

Moravian's Hilary Murray and Katie O'Rourke grabbed five points right off the tip-off and the Greyhounds took that small lead and ran with it for the rest of the game.

The Greyhounds went on a scoring surge, holding Juniata at just six points for the first ten minutes of the first half until Alyssa Gordon (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) finally sunk a jumper to make the score 23-8. The Eagles trailed 31-47 at the first half buzzer.

Juniata missed their first two shots in the start of the second half then Jen Hnatuck (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) sunk both of her free throws. Jordan Speck (Huntingdon, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) drained a three-pointer just two minutes in, yet the Greyhounds were relentless and gained their largest lead of 26 points with 7:37 left.

Hnatuck led the Eagles off the glass with 18 rebounds and five assists, 9-of-21 shooting. Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic) collected 15 points, 4-of-17 shooting, while Speck also scored in the double-digits with ten of her own, 3-of-10 shooting.

Amy Heffner and Emily Smith teamed up for the majority of the Greyhound's scoring, Heffner with 34 points and 12 rebounds, Smith with 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Juniata hosts a Landmark Conference double header next weekend in Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 on Friday, Jan. 21, versus U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Saturday's game versus Drew University is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
