FROSTBURG, Md. -- Juniata College freshman Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) notched her second collegiate double-double to lead the Eagles to a 74-68 win over Frostburg State University, Monday night at FSU's Bobcat Arena.

McDonald scored 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field, and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds - part of Juniata's 45 to 30 domination of Frostburg State on the boards.

Sophomore guard Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) led Juniata (5-1) with 21 points behind a 8-of-13 effort from the floor, including a pair of 3-pointers. Meagan Raville (McSherrystown, Pa./Delone Catholic) chipped in with nine points, while Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic) added eight.

Juniata shot slightly better than 60 percent in the second half to recover from a 33-29 halftime deficit. The Eagles pulled even with the Bobcats four times in the first four minutes of the second half, before grabbing a six-point lead by the 14-minute mark of the frame.

Finally, with Juniata leading 47-44 with 12:54 remaining, Glinsky drained a 3-pointer to double the Eagles' advantage. McDonald followed up with a pair of layups and a "plus one" foul shot to extend the Juniata lead to double digits with 10:39 showing on the clock.

The Eagles held at least a two possessions lead until the final minute, when a jumper by Frostburg's Stephanie Straka and a 3-pointer by Lisa Byer brought the Bobcats to within two points, 70-68, with 43 seconds remaining.

A McDonald jumper put Juniata back up by four points with 15 seconds left, and Straka's layup attempts at the other end of the floor was off the mark with Jen Hnatuck (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) grabbing the all-important defensive rebound for the Eagles.

Frostburg (2-2) put Bankos on the line with four seconds remaining, but the junior guard sank both foul shots to extend Juniata's lead to six points and secure the victory.

Mindy Sharp scored a game-high 22 points for Frostburg, while Byer chipped in 20 points buoyed by a 4-of-9 effort from three-point range. Sharp and Makeda Peterson each had a team-high eight rebounds, while Sharp also dished out six assists.

The Eagles will open Landmark Conference play this Saturday, Dec. 4, when they travel to Selinsgrove, Pa., to face arch-rival Susquehanna University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with the Juniata men's team facing the Crusaders at 5:30 p.m.
