SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Juniata College women's cross country finished 17th out of 45 squads while the men were 22nd out of 47 at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Cross Country Championships, held Saturday morning at the Cooper's Lake Campground.

Junior Jessica Koenig (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) was the top Juniata women's finisher, placing 48th with a personal record time of 23:58.3 in the 6K event. Freshman Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) was 53rd with a time of 24:03.6, while sophomore Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township) was 78th by time, 77th by points, with a mark of 24:34.3.

Outside the top 100, senior Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) was 121st by time, 119th by points, with a time of 25:24.4. Junior Casey Hoffman posted a time of 26:59.4, and was 208th by time, 202nd by points.

For the Juniata men, junior Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) was the top finisher and the only one among the top 100 runners, finishing 73rd with a time of 27:05.9 in the 8K race.

Freshman Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) was 120th with a mark of 27:50.6, followed by a cluster of three Juniata runners who finished within 15 seconds of each other. Junior Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa./Oil City) was 138th with a mark of 28:05.0, while senior Steve Schmitt (New Providence, Pa./Solanco) finished 149th in a time of 28:16.7. Senior Kenny Goodfellow (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) was 155th with a time of 28:20.9.
