HUNTINGDON, Pa. â?" Juniata College senior setter Steph Strauss (Verona, Pa./Penn Hills) has been awarded a "Coaches 4 Coaches" Scholarship by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) to attend the 2010 AVCA Annual Convention.

Strauss is one of eight scholarship recipients in the 2010 Coaches 4 Coaches program, which assists college students who are interested in pursuing volleyball coaching positions post-graduation, and give them a head start on their career.

Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to interact with other coaches who have had success at all levels, and explore the networking and educational opportunities available at the AVCA Annual Convention.

Strauss is a two-time AVCA Second team All-America selection, and was named the NCAA's "Elite 88" Award recipient for the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship as the student-athlete at the championship site with the highest cumulative grade point average. A two-time team captain, she currently ranks eighth among Juniata's all-time career assist leaders with 3,140 assists (8.18 per set), with 174 total blocks, 54 service aces, and 529 kills to her credit.

Juniata is currently 26-4 overall, and ranked fourth in the nation in this week's AVCA Division III Coaches Top 25 poll.
