GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Junior Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) and sophomore Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township) lead the Juniata College finishers at the Gettysburg College Cross Country Invitational, Saturday afternoon in Gettysburg, Pa.

Parker finished 32nd out of 304 runners in the event, posting a time of 27:10.60. Finishers in front of Parker included runners from Shippensburg University, Johns Hopkins University, and Ursinus College.

Trailing Parker was Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa./Oil City), who was 52nd in 27:33.34. Senior Jonathan Pfadenhauer (Old Westbury, N.Y./The Wheatley School) was 61st in a time of 27:42.90. Marty Henderek (Titusville, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) rounded out the top 100 finishers in 99th place with a time of 28:20.52. Senior Kenny Goodfellow was 133rd in a time of 28:45.84, while Steve Schmitt was trailing directly behind in 134th with a mark of 28:47.43.

The Juniata men tallied 269 points in the meet, and finished 11th out of 25 teams.

Morgan paced the women's team with a time of 24:20.97 in the 6k event, finishing 26th out of 290 runners. Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) was Juniata's next highest finisher, placing 28th with a time of 24:22.51. Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) was 85th with a time of 25:48.30, while newcomer Alyssa Grube (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was 101st with a mark of 26:01.54.

Juniata's women's cross country team tallied 317 points and finished 13th out of 25 teams.

Both Juniata cross country teams have next Saturday off to prepare for the Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30, in Grantham, Pa.
