DELAWARE, Ohio. -- The Juniata College cross country teams traveled to the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational in Delaware, Ohio. The top runner for the men finished in 16th place while the top runner for the women finished in 31st.

In the men's 8K event, Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) finished in 16th place with a time of 26:13.7, shaving over 37 seconds off his personal record time in an 8K race. Freshman Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) trailed Parker with a time of 27:20.7 in 50th place. Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa./Oil City) also ran for the Eagles, finishing in 70th place with a time of 27:41.1. Senior Steve Schmitt came in 75th place with a time of 27:54.2, and junior Jonathan Pfadenhauer (Old Westbury, N.Y./The Wheatley School) came in 101st place, clocking in at 28:29.7

Overall, the men ranked 11th out of 14 teams in the invitational with a total time of 2:17:39.40 and an average time of 27.31.88.

The women ran a 5K event with a newcomer, Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) setting the pace for the Eagles at 19:41.7 and placing 31st. Jessica Koenig (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) followed Woods in 61st place out of 238 runners and a time of 20:17.6. Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) clocked in at 20:31:1 and placed 77th. In the same minute, Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township) came in 82nd place. Anna Wakabayashi clocked in at 22:05.1 and placed 151st in her event while senior, Elizabeth Linde (Kirkwood, Pa./Solanco) came in 190th and recorded a time of 22:59.1.

The women ranked 11th out of 15 teams in the invitational with a total time of 1:42:35.30 and an average time of 20:31.06

Juniata competes at the Dickinson College Long/Short invitational next Saturday, Sept. 18, scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. start.
