Women's tennis posts second shutout win of the season in 9-0 win over Stevenson

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's tennis team posted its second shutout win of the 2009-10 campaign on Monday, with a 9-0 triumph over Stevenson University on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts.
Juniata (7-7) began play with a sweep of the three doubles matches, with Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and Maggie Wolenter (Audubon, N.J./Audubon) posting the most lop-sided win, 8-1 over Stevenson's Julie Strong and Stephanie Eyler.
All six Eagle entries in singles match won in straight sets, including a pair of straight set shutouts. Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntington Area) logged a 6-0, 6-0 victory at no. 4 singles over the Mustangs' Sam Baugher. Newcomer Rachel Adams (McLean, Va./Jakarta Int'l School) also put together a 6-0, 6-0 win at no. 6 singles over Stevenson's Ashleigh Smith.
Juniata has a break until this Saturday, April 17, when it faces Goucher College in Towson, Md., in a Landmark Conference match.
