Juniata College will host a workshop on writing research proposals to funding agencies as part of a Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Institute on Proposal Writing, July 14-18 on the Juniata College campus.

The institute is organized by I. David Reingold, professor of chemistry at Juniata and past chair of the chemistry division of CUR. Researchers from colleges and universities across the country will attend the seminar.

The institute is aimed at novice and experienced researchers who would benefit from instruction on writing research proposals. The institute will consist of periods devoted to proposal preparation, interspersed with one-on-one mentoring by experienced and successful research proposal writers. The program also features visits from university-sponsored grants officers and state and federal agency program grant officers. There also will be group critique sessions.

"Participants should leave Juniata with a completed proposal to the granting agency of their choice," Reingold says.
