- BS, Mathematics - Secondary Ed, Muskingum University
Matt grew up in Pataskala, Ohio, a suburban town just east of Columbus. In 2010 he graduated from Watkins Memorial High School and made the decision to continue his education at Muskingum University. While there he studied Mathematics and Education with the primary goal of becoming a 7-12 math teacher. During his time at Muskingum, Matt was a member of Kappa Delta Pi (an international honor society for education), Kappa Mu Epsilon (a mathematics honor society), as well as played baseball for the Fighting Muskies.
After graduating from college Matt continued to explore his passion for education and baseball by teaching 8th grade math, Algebra 1, and Geometry and becoming an assistant baseball coach. Matt joined the Juniata staff in September 2019 after 4 years of teaching. He is excited to continue serving students as he did while teaching, but now with helping students discover what they want their college experience to look like.
Matt and his wife, Laina, can often be seen supporting many of the Juniata athletic teams. Laina is the current Juniata College Softball coach. Matt spends the majority of his free time outside, which is one reason he loves Juniata and the Huntingdon area. He is especially excited to explore all of the fishing opportunities.
Matt will be serving students in Northeastern and Northcentral Pennsylvania along with Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
