HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College's community service program was recognized as part of the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll 2014.

Juniata is one of 700 colleges and universities acknowledged for the honor, which is a part of the Corporation for National and Community Service.

The Honor Roll's Presidential Award is the highest federal recognition an institution can receive for its commitment to community, service-learning and civic engagement. The award has been handed out since 2006.

Four institutions were selected to receive presidential distinction; California State University, Dominguez Hills; Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa; University of Nebraska, Omaha; and Wheelock College, in Boston, Mass.
