HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Wendy Bennett, a conservator at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pa. will talk on "Restoration and Preservation of Warhol's Work," at 6:15 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22 in the Neff Lecture Hall in the von Liebig Center for Science on the Juniata campus.

The event is free and open to the public. After the lecture, there will be a reception at the Juniata College Museum of Art to celebrate the opening of the museum's new exhibition, "Happy Warholidays," at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. The exhibit runs through Feb 1, 2003.

Bennett is a full-time paper conservator who owns her own consulting business based in Pittsburgh. She also worked part-time from 1992 to 1996 as a paper conservator for the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Heinz Architectural Center.

She will talk about the challenges of conserving works of art by Andy Warhol that exist on a wide range of paper and paper-based materials. She also will discuss how museums approach the conservation of unique paper artifacts and archival materials that are part of the Warhol Museum's permanent collection.

Bennett earned a bachelor's degree in art history from the University of California-Berkeley in 1978 and earned a master's degree in art history from New York University.

Her professional experience includes conservation work at the Keiko Keyes Studio in Woodacre, Calif., and at the Pacific Regional Conservation Center at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum in Honolulu, Hawaii. She also worked as a paper conservator at the Avery Library at Columbia University in New York City.

Bennett is a member of the American Institute for Conservation.
