HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College athletics finished the winter ranked third in the Landmark Conference Presidents' All-Sports Cup standings, which were released Thursday.

The Eagles have 6.43 points in the standings, trailing Susquehanna University (7.13 points) and the University of Scranton (6.60 points). Moravian College (5.45 points) is currently fourth in the Presidents' All-Sports Cup race.

Catholic University of America, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Drew University, and Goucher College are in the fifth through eighth spots.

The Landmark Presidents' All-Sports Cup is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for their finishes in the regular season conference standings, as well as results in Landmark post-season competition. The formula also takes into account the number of sports each Landmark institution sponsors.

In addition, the mid-winter update in the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Learfield Sports Division III Directors' Cup standings was released on Thursday, with Juniata ranked 52nd out of 435 NCAA Division III active member institutions.

Juniata has 136.00 points in the Directors' Cup standings, which already represents more points than Eagle teams earned in either 2008-09 or 2009-10.

Institutions earn points in the NACDA Learfield Sports Division III Directors' Cup based on their participation and advancement in NCAA tournament competition. The mid-winter update does not include points Juniata earned through its participation in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship.
