HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College junior Zach Wanner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) has been named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Tait Division Player of the Week, for the week ending February 8, 2009.

Wanner hit .403 for the week while helping lead the Eagles to a pair of EIVA Tait victories. He tallied 17 kills and 33 swings with a .424 attack percentage to lead Juniata to a 3-0 win over Princeton University, and followed up with 22 kills and a .386 attack percentage in the Eagles' 3-1 triumph over the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

For the week, Wanner totaled 39 kills, averaging 5.57 kills per set, with a pair of service aces, 3.0 total blocks, and 12 digs.

Wanner is currently ranked 12th among NCAA national statistical leaders in kills per game with 4.16, and 43rd in hitting with a .273 attack percentage.

Juniata is currently 4-2 overall, 2-1 EIVA Tait, and ranked third in the nation in the Bison/AVCA Division III coaches poll. The Eagles will travel to Loretto, Pa., on Wednesday for a conference matchup with St. Francis University, followed by a home match on Thursday night against fourth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology.
