SCRANTON, Pa. -- The University of Scranton scored the first 11 points of Saturday evening's matchup against Juniata College and went on to post a 69-44 win over the Eagles, in Landmark Conference men's basketball action in Scranton, Pa.

Junior guard Jeff Berkey (Stoystown, Pa./Shanksville-Stonycreek) scored 11 points for the Eagles, while senior Justin Baker (Nanty Glo, Pa./Bishop Carroll) tallied six points with a game-high 10 rebounds.

Scranton's Luke Hawk scored five points in Scranton's game-opening run, part of his 11-point effort on the night. Paul Biagioli tallied four points in the Royals' opening barrage, finishing with eight points in Scranton's wire-to-wire victory.

Juniata (3-11, 1-2 Landmark) picked up its shooting in the second half, going 10-of-26 from the field, but Scranton again came out of the locker room with a scoring run - this time opening the half with a 7-0 surge. However the Royals (9-4, 2-1 Landmark) did most of their damage off Eagle turnovers, turning Juniata's 17 giveaways into 22 points.

The Eagles will return to action on Friday, Jan. 16, when they travel to Kings Point, N.Y., to face the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
