HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College junior Ryan Navarro (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) was the lone Eagle men's tennis player selected to the 2008 All-Landmark Conference men's tennis teams, which were announced Wednesday.

Navarro was a Second Team selection to the All-Landmark Conference squads, which were selected by the league's eight head coaches. The all-conference teams consist of a first and second team, with six singles players and three doubles pairings per squad.

Navarro posted a 6-5 overall record in singles matches this season, all at #3 singles. In Landmark Conference play, he recorded a 4-3 mark while playing at third singles. In doubles competition, Navarro's record was 3-5 overall, 2-4 in Landmark matches. The Altoona, Pa., native is studying communication at Juniata.

"Ryan Navarro is the type of player you would want on any team," said Juniata head coach Beth Bleil. "He'll never let you down, and he always puts his very best into the match. His speed, quickness, and anticipation are very deceptive, and allow him to get to a lot of balls that opponents think are going to be winners for them."

The Juniata men's tennis team finished its season with a 6-12 overall record, 3-4 in the Landmark Conference.
