TOWSON, Md. -- The Juniata College men's tennis team won five out of six singles matches and carried a pair of the doubles matchups on its way to a 7-2 victory over Goucher College, Saturday afternoon in Towson, Md. The Eagles (3-7, 1-1 Landmark) won #1 through #5 singles, with Jarrad Silver (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) posting a lengthy win at #1 singles, 5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (10-7). Silver then teamed up with Arnab Chakrabarti (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta) for a win at #3 doubles, 8-6, over Goucher's Billie Weiss and Michael Simon. Chakrabarti had a singles win of his own, earning a 6-1, 6-1 win over the Gophers' Francisco Barrera at #4 singles. Ryan Navarro (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) saw the first two sets to go tiebreakers in his #3 singles match against Steve Baum, before Navarro came away with the win, 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-2), 1-0 (10-7). Aaron Rhodes (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) was victorious at #5 singles, 6-0, 6-2, over Weiss. Juniata's other doubles win came at #2 doubles, where Rhodes and Skoner teamed up to beat Goucher's Chris Covey and Jeff McLeod, 8-5. The Eagle men's tennis team returns to action on Thursday, April 3, when it travels to Erie, Pa., to face Penn State-Behrend.
