CARLISLE, Pa.? For the second time in as many weeks the Juniata College men?s and women?s indoor track and field claimed a number of strong performances in a meet at Dickinson College, this time performing well at the DuCharme Invitational Friday night. Facing off against five teams in the non-scoring meet, the Eagles had a number of top-six finishes.

The only victories on the day for Juniata women came from freshman Kelsey Buffenmeyer (Donegal/Mount Joy). Competing in just her second collegiate meet, she earned a victory in the long jump with an effort of 16? 5 ½? and also won the high jump with a leap of 5? 2?. She also added a fifth-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles.

Also producing high finishes for the Eagles on the women?s side was Caitlin Hinson (Danville/Danville). She ran to a fourth-place finish in the 55-meter dash, and then placed fifth in the 300-meter dash.

Juniata?s men?s squad also fared well in the sprinting events, including a first-place effort in the 55-meter dash. Dusty Sier (Smithsburg/Smithsburg, Md.) raced to a first-place effort in the sprint, posting a time of 6.59, .02 seconds faster than his effort on the same track last weekend. Sier added a fifth-place finish in the 300. Gary Ondecko (Bishop Carroll/Northern Cambria) was sixth for the Eagles in the 55-meter dash, the only other top-six effort for the Eagle men on the day.

Juniata will be off for the remainder of the semester, and will return to action early in January.
