Wilkes-Barre, Pa.? The Juniata College women?s swimming team established a new program record with its 11th dual-meet victory which came as Juniata topped King?s College Saturday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre. Juniata closes the regular season with a record of 11-4.

The Eagles earned the top finisher in each individual event as they rolled past the Monarchs. The meet began with the team of Dana Gais (Kiski Area/Saltsburg), Amy Sutherland (Norwich/Norwich, N.Y.), Jenny Bair (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) and Kathy Trainor (Upper Merion/King of Prussia) earning a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.

The victories continued as Kim Dierolf (Boyertown/Boyertown) finished first in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Rachel Almy (Foxcroft Acedmy/Charleston, Me.) swam home to a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle, while Kathleen O?Leary (Nashua/Nashua, N.H.) earned a win in the 50 freestyle.

Sutherland matched her relay success as she placed first in the 400-yard IM. Carli Zoubek (Paul IV/Burke, Va.) earned two first-place finishes as she touched the wall first in the 11 breaststroke and the 100 yard butterfly.

Collin Thompson (Altoona/Altoona) placed first for Juniata in the 100 backstroke and Kasey Brough (Carlisle/Gardners) rounded out the wins with a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle.

The Eagles will now be in training for the next three weeks until they begin competition at the MAC Championships which begin February 11 in Wilkes-Barre.
