Philadelphia, Pa.? For the second time this season the Juniata College women?s track team has topped the school record in the 4x400-meter relay, this time topping the mark at the first day of competition at the famed Penn Relays in Philadelphia on Thursday.

The Eagle team of Juliana Hillegass (Shanksville-Stonycreek/Berlin), Elena Amato (Notre Dame Prep./Baltimore, Md.), Meredith Troutman (Meyersdale/Meyersdale) and Stefanie Rynkewitz broke the previous school record in the event, which the quartet had set at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic two weekends ago. The group placed second in their heat, and finished the race in a time of 4:01.41 which topped the previous record by nearly two seconds.

The performance was the sixth school record that the Eagle women?s team has either tied or broken during the outdoor track season.

The Eagle men will be in action on Friday at the Penn Relays, and both track squads will compete at the Dickinson Invitational on Saturday.
