Juniata 3, Princeton 2

3/28/04--Princeton, N.J. ? After dropping a pair of tough matches against Division I opponents earlier in the week, the Juniata College men?s volleyball team rallied from a two games to none deficit to top Princeton 3-2 in Princeton Sunday afternoon. The victory upped Juniata?s record to 12-5 overall and 6-4 in the EIVA Tait Division. Princeton is now 9-8 overall and fell to 5-6 in the Tait. Juniata is now holds a two-match edge of Princeton for third place in the Tait Division standings.

The momentum of the match shifted half-way through the third game. Princeton outside hitter Blake Robinson turned an ankle after recording a kill, and did not return. Juniata picked up momentum from that point on, and carried that momentum to a 30-28 game three win.

Jeremy Barndt (Souderton/Souderton) entered the match in the third game and finished with 11 kills and a .530 hitting percentage. Also inserted in game three was Steve Yeager (Hempfield/East Petersburg) who took over the libero duties for Juniata and picked up eight digs. Those two performances off the bench helped the Eagles to wins in game?s four and five.

Also posting a big contribution was senior Kenny Eiser (Central Bucks West/Doylestown) who led the team with 23 kills with a .450 hitting percentage. Eiser added four blocks for the Blue and Gold.
