Huntingdon, PA ? After closing the regular season with a perfect 34-0 record, the Juniata College women?s volleyball team placed five players on the Commonwealth Conference All-Conference team, as voted by the league?s eight head coaches.

Carli Dale (Cochranton/Cochranton) was named the conference player of the year, while freshman Stephanie Kines (Towson/Towson, Md.) was picked as the conference rookie of the year. In a sweep of the individual awards, Juniata head coach Larry Bock was named the conference coach of the year. Along with Dale, Katie Laucks (West York/York) was named to the All-Conference first team, while Kines, Johanna Holtan (Fargo North/Fargo, N.D) and Katie Charles (Manheim Township/Lancaster) were all tabbed as second-team All-Conference players.

Dale has directed the Juniata offense by passing out 1269 assists while her average of 13.65 assists per game is tops in NCAA Division III. Dale was named the AVCA/Sports Imports Division III player of the week during the season and was named the conference player of the week twice. She was a second-team All-American last season, and this marks the third time she?s been an All-Conference choice. Dale also helps out defensively for the Eagles, she has tallied 341 digs on the season which places her second on the team, and she has totaled 31 aces on the season.

Laucks has emerged as a primary offensive option for Juniata this season. In her sophomore season at Juniata, she leads the team in kills with 382, while averaging 3.94 per game. Laucks also leads the team in blocks with a total of 66 while averaging .68 per game and is tops in aces with 47. She was an honorable mention All-Region pick as a freshman, and was selected for the All-Conference unit as a freshman. She was twice chosen as the conference player of the week, and earned all-tournament honors at three separate invitationals.

Kines has moved into the starting lineup mid-way through her freshman season and has knocked out 234 kills, while averaging 2.96 finishes per game. She leads the team, and is 13th in NCAA Division III in hitting percentage with a mark of .400. She is second on the team in blocks with 56 and has an average of .71 per game.

Holtan has paced the Juniata defense from her libero position. She leads the team with 586 digs and is averaging 5.43 digs per game. She has moved into second place in school history with 2,225 digs and is now 12th in NCAA Division III history in career digs. She recorded a career-high 41 digs in a Juniata victory over La Verne. Holtan was an All-Region pick as a junior, and earned second-team all-conference last season as well.

Charles has been a versatile performer for Juniata and is currently ranked third on the team in total kills with 349 while averaging 3.36 per game. She is also ranked third on the team in digs with a total of 278, and third in total blocks with 43. Charles was named to the AVCA/Sports Import Division III Player of the Week this season and was picked as the Commonwealth player of the week as well.

Juniata is currently ranked first in the AVCA Division III Coaches Poll, and has not moved from that spot since the preseason poll was posted. The Eagles are currently undefeated with a 35-0 record and will look to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament when they play in the Commonwealth Conference Championship match on Saturday.
