HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Rosalyn Troiano, lecturer in music and director of the Juniata College Synfonia, is starting the Juniata College Community String Program to provide instruction in violin and viola for students ranging in age from 4 years old to high school.

Lessons are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year. Lessons are scheduled to begin Wednesday, Oct. 1, but students will be accepted throughout the year.

For more information on the program, please call Rosalyn Troiano at (814) 364-2684, or e-mail her at troiano@juniata.edu, or rozviola@yahoo.com.

Troiano says the instruction will use the Suzuki violin and viola method.

?The Suzuki method is a learn-by-listening approach with parent participation in the lessons and at home,? Troiano says.

At the end of the year, participants will give a concert and may give a joint performance with the Juniata Synfonia, a 15-piece string ensemble.
