Huntingdon, Pa. – On Feb. 23, 2018, Juniata College will host Career Day, a one-stop networking event. Approximately 120 employers from Pennsylvania and the surrounding region will be in attendance to identify candidates for internships and full-time employment opportunities. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Intramural Gymnasium of Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center on the College’s campus. It is free and open to the public.

Career Day provides students, alumni, and community members with the opportunity to receive advice, practice professionalism and expand network connections. From first-year students to job-seeking graduates and community members, all are encouraged to attend the event.

“There is never a bad time to start building connections, so someone is in your corner,” says Tammy Stuber, that College’s assistant director of career services. “The key to networking is casting a broad net, like you would while fishing. When you cast a single line, your likelihood of finding a match is limited. However, the more people you tell what you’re looking for to develop these relationships, the more success you’ll have in landing a good job or internship… like reeling in a great catch!”

Students from any area of study and community members with a variety of skills and backgrounds are invited to attend. Some employers in attendance include: Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Altoona Curve Baseball, Sheetz, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Pennsylvania Game Commission, as well as leading local organizations like J.C. Blair Health Systems, Inc., Lincoln Caverns, and Huntingdon County Business and Industry.
