HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College Wind Symphony will perform two selections from "The Planets, by famed British composer Gustav Holst, as its opening selection at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in Rosenberger Auditorium in the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts on the Juniata campus.

Tickets for the concert are $5 for adults and Juniata students with ID or children under 18 are admitted free. The Wind Symphony is directed by James Latten, professor of music at Juniata.

The final selection for the evening will be "Jupiter," also part of Holst's "The Planets."

After the initial performance of "Mars" and "Venus," the Honors Brass Quintet will play "Processional Hymn with Fanfares" and "Medley for the Gamer."

The Honors Woodwind Quartet will play "Suite for Woodwind Quartet," by Robert Washburn.

The Honors Saxophone Quartet will play "Irish Suite," featuring "Kerry Dance," "Lullaby," and "Irish Washerwoman."

The full wind symphony will return, playing "Epinicion" by John Baldwin. An epinicion is an ancient song of victory sung after a triumphant battle.

After intermission, the wind symphony will perform "Entry of the Gladiators (Thunder and Blazes)" by Julius Fucik, also known as "classic circus music."

Next, select members of the ensemble will play "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," by J.S. Bach, followed by "Maple Leaf Rag," by Scott Joplin.

The final selection for the evening will be "Jupiter," also part of Holst's "The Planets."

B Flat Clarinet: Emma Hannan, a freshman from Falls Church, Va.; Kaleigh Herron a sophomore from Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.; Robert Shaw, a sophomore from Springfield, Pa.; Anna Sweeney, a sophomore from Carlisle, Pa.; and Nikea Ulrich, a junior from Homer, N.Y.
