HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College will host its sixth annual Eagle Expo Internship Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the Ellis College Center Ballroom, where approximately 150 Juniata students will search for internship opportunities for either the summer or the 2003-2004 academic year.
If your business or organization has not registered and would like to participate in this event, please contact the Office of Career Services at (814) 641-3350 for more information.

"The job fair will bring Juniata students together with employers from business, industry and public service in one convenient location, at one convenient time, to discuss student internship possibilities," says Darwin Kysor, Juniata's director of career services. "With a strong liberal arts background, our students have valuable skills to contribute to a variety of businesses."

About 225 Juniata students complete internships each year. Some internships earn students college credits while others are non-credit, paid or unpaid.

Some of the participating businesses or organizations registered for the 2003 Juniata Eagle Expo Internship Fair include: York-Adams Area Council Boy Scouts of America, Cambria County Children & Youth Services, Camp Blue Diamond, Camp Eder, Camp Sequanota, Centre County Women's Resource Center, Fort Roberdeau Historical Site and Natural Area, Huntingdon County Child and Adult Development Corporation, Keystone Service Systems, Office of the Attorney General Bureau of Consumer Protection, Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Bureau of Audits, Pittsburgh Technology Council, SCI Smithfield, State Civil Service System, SCI Huntingdon, and Raystown Developmental Services.

Internships offer Juniata students the chance to gain experience in professional settings, while businesses or organizations receive assistance with their workloads. In addition, internships facilitate student entry into their chosen profession, while providing the opportunity to apply classroom concepts and theories to the realities of an on-the-job experience.
