SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Despite the contest being relatively even statistically speaking, Juniata men's soccer could not capitalize and fell to Susquehanna University, 3-0, Tuesday evening at Sassafras Field.

Juniata (5-6, 1-4 LC) fired 14 shots at Susquehanna (7-6, 3-2 LC) keeper Pat Horan as did the Crusaders at the Eagle net. Susquehanna posted eight shots-on-goal, only two more than the Eagles' six.

Senior forward David Grim (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area) tallied four shots for Juniata, half of which were on target, while senior midfielder Luke Waddell (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) charted three fires.

The first Crusader goal came in the 28th minute when junior Daniel Sosa found sophomore Andrew Murphy for his fifth goal this season. In the 32nd minute, junior Brandon Kates got his first goal of the season as a result of a Murphy to sophomore John Boylan passing sequence.

The final Susquehanna mark was scored just 27 seconds into the second half when sophomore Andrew Hayes fed Sosa the ball to put the game out of the Eagles' reach.

Even the keeper saves were equal, as both Juniata junior Ezra Cassel (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) and Horan registered five saves apiece, with Susquehanna charting one team save on a Juniata shot.

The Eagles continue Landmark Conference play for the third contest in a row when they host Drew University for a 1:00 p.m. game on Saturday, October 22.
