SALISBURY, Md. -- Juniata College senior Shauna Deschenes (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) scored two of the Eagles' three goals in the final 10 minutes of play, leading Juniata to a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Randolph-Macon College, Sunday afternoon in the Salisbury University Invitational at Sea Gull Stadium.

The 16th-ranked Eagles improved to 3-1 overall with the win, while Randolph-Macon fell to 2-4.

Juniata yielded its only goal to Randolph-Macon early in the contest, as the Yellow Jackets' Lauren Seal buried a shot in the right corner off a cross from Carrie Jacobs.

Randolph-Macon kept that lead into the intermission, despite being outshot by Juniata, 7-1, and outcornered, 6-4, over the first 35 minutes of play.

The Eagles opened the second half with a flurry of shots, forcing Yellow Jacket goalie Nicole Woodworth to record three saves of her game total of 12 early in the frame.

Deschenes finally broke Woodworth's hex in the 62nd minute of play, firing home a loose rebound of a shot by Juniata's Emma Dahmus (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin). Junior Caroline Phillips (Wilmington, Del./Concord) notched what would prove to be the game winner just 24 seconds later, beating Woodworth with a blast from the right side.

Deschenes put an insurance marker in the Juniata column with an unassisted goal with 22 seconds remaining in the game.

Juniata finished the game outshooting Randolph-Macon, 23-4, with a commanding 15-1 advantage in penalty corners.

Eagle goalie Janelle Howard (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) played all 70 minutes in the Juniata cage, and did not record a save on the afternoon.

Juniata is on the road for its next two contests, starting with a matchup against No. 2 Messiah College on Friday, Sept. 16, at 6:00 p.m. at Saint Francis University's DeGol Field in Loretto, Pa.
