HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's basketball has received commitments from four young women to continue their academic careers at Juniata this fall, while competing for the Eagles and Head Coach Danny Yong-Uhrich.

Joining Juniata women's basketball next season will be, in alphabetical order, Emily Fox (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights), Kelsey Livoti (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle), Alix Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area), and Liz Wortman (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area).

Fox, a 5-9 guard, finished her senior year with a new school record for three-point baskets made with 38. She helped lead Brandywine Heights to the Class AAA District III championship game, where she had 12 points on four three-pointers.

The daughter of Allen and Shelly Fox, Emily Fox is planning on studying biochemistry and anthropology at Juniata.

"Emily is a deadly shooter, with a very accurate shot from long distance," said Young-Uhrich. "She has very good court awareness as well. She can be a great rebounder and can be a mismatch at the guard position."

Livoti, a 5-11 guard, helped pace Bishop Guilfoyle to a Class A state title during her junior season, and the championship game during her senior campaign. She was also a member of BG's 2009 state championship team during her sophomore season. Livoti was a team captain as a senior, and was a second team selection to the Altoona Mirror All-Star squad.

Livoti is the daughter of Francis and Theresa Livoti, and is undecided on a course of study at Juniata.

"Kelsey comes from a phenomenal program. She not only has a winning attitude, but she's fundamentally sound. She looks to push the ball in transition and can knock down a deep three," said Young-Uhrich.

Sellers, a 5-9 guard, was a three-time All-Allegheny Conference selection, earning first team honors as a senior for coach Craig Sellers. The Altoona Mirror Classic All-Star selection was MVP of the 2010 Huntingdon Lions Club Christmas Tournament, and was named Huntingdon Area High School's Outstanding Senior Female Athlete by the Huntingdon County Sports Hall of Fame.

The daughter of Michael and Regina Sellers, Alix Sellers plans on studying anthropology at Juniata. Her grandfather, Pete Sellers, was a member of Juniata's famed undefeated football teams in 1957 and 1958.

"Alix will be one of the most athletic players on our team," said Young-Uhrich. "She can run the floor well, and is very impressive on the boards. She's a finisher around the basket and can defend the hoop well."

Wortman, a 5-5 guard, earned First Team All-Mountain League honors as a junior, while leading Bellefonte Area HS to a second consecutive Mountain League title and the 2010 District VI championship game. She was a First Team Lock Haven Express All-Star, and played for Bellefonte's 2008 state quarterfinalist squad and District VI title team.

Wortman is the daughter of William and Gina Wortman, and is undecided on an academic program of emphasis at Juniata.

"Liz is coming off ACL surgery after sitting out her senior year," explained Young-Uhrich. "She'll be a little rusty, but with her work ethic, she'll be ready to go by the start of the season. She's a very fundamentally sound player as well, and will be a great court leader."

Juniata finished its 2010-11 season by winning its first Landmark Conference championship, earning the program's third trip to the NCAA tournament and second over the last four years. The Eagles finished with a 22-7 overall record, second-highest single season win total in school history, with a 12-2 mark in the Landmark Conference.

Young-Uhrich has led the Eagles to a 75-40 record over the past four seasons, with two NCAA tournament appearances and two ECAC South Region tourney berths, including an ECAC South championship in 2009.
