HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College freshman Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./ State College Area) earned Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Monday, due to her weekend performance that put the Eagles in front for a playoff position.

McDonald had a pair of solid games to help Juniata sweep the number two seed Moravian College and the number one seed, the University of Scranton in Landmark action. Her high energy in crucial moments helped her both score and rebound phenomenally.

She scored a team-high 19 points with nine rebounds, five steals and three assists as the Eagles downed Moravian, then followed it up with her seventh double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while adding three assists and two steals in an overtime win over Scranton.

For the week she averaged 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals, three assists and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 62-percent from the field.

McDonald previously earned Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Jan. 31 as she logged her sixth double-double of the season in a 73-54 victory over Goucher College.

Juniata put itself in the driver's seat for playoff position this weekend completing a season sweep of Scranton with a 68-67 overtime win. Juniata's win left both the Eagles and Scranton tied with 11-2 Landmark records, with Juniata holding the tiebreaker heading into next Saturday's regular season finale against Susquehanna University. A Juniata win at home over the Crusaders, or a Scranton loss at home to Moravian, would allow the Eagles to seal the top seed for the upcoming Landmark Tournament.

The "senior day" game against Susquehanna University is scheduled for 5:30 pm on Saturday, Feb. 19.
