WASHINGTON, D.C -- The Juniata College women's basketball team trailed by ten just five minutes into the game, yet a perfect 16-of-16 from the free throw line contributed to a second half, 76-60, come-back against Catholic University, Saturday at the DuFour Center Gymnasium.

A total of six players shot 100 percent from the line, and the Eagles made 90.9 percent of their free throws throughout the entire game.

The Cardinals held the Eagles at bay for the first three minutes of the game, getting an eight-point head start. Sophomore Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) finally had enough and finished a layup to get in the game. The Cardinals were up 12-2 just five minutes into the first half.

The Eagles trailed for the entire first half but proved they were not going to back down. With 3:14 left on the clock in the first half sophomore Jordan Speck (Huntingdon, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) closed the Cardinal's lead to 31-27 with a three-pointer. A layup by senior Jen Hnatuck (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) with just under a minute left on the clock pulled the Eagles to trail 32-30. A last second steal and a layup from junior Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic) tied it up, 32-32, to end the half with some hope.

The two teams went neck-and-neck for the first five minutes of the second half until the Eagles held the Cardinals at 38 points and went on a five-point run to pull away 47-38. With 7:50 left Juniata embarked on an eight-point run to get up 68-51. Glinsky was responsible for six points of the eight-point run and Bankos made 2-of-2 foul shots.

Juniata's largest lead was with two minutes left on the clock, 72-53, marked by two good free throws from Speck.

Juniata (14-6, 7-2 Landmark) shot 39.1 percent from the floor and 27.3 percent from outside the arc. The Eagles committed 31 turnovers, which the Cardinals turned into 12 points. The Cardinals had 26 turnovers, which the Eagles turned into 27 points. The Eagles had a 49-34 advantage in rebounds.

Hnatuck collected a game-high of 12 rebounds, while Glinsky put up a team-high of 16 points. Freshman Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) and sophomore Paige Robertson (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) also scored in the double-digits with 11 points.

Catholic (13-7, 5-4 Landmark) shot 37.3 percent from the floor and only made 20 percent of its three-point shots. The Cardinals made 58.3 percent of their free throws. Jill Woerner had a game-high of 19 total points and Emily Grabiak collected a team-high of six rebounds.

Juniata will travel to Drew University next Friday, Feb. 4, for more Landmark Conference action. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
