HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College field hockey team is entering their fourth consecutive Landmark Conference championship game this Saturday, and now has even more recognition to its name.

The Landmark Conference coaches selected six Eagles to the 2010 All-Landmark Conference teams, as well as head coach Caroline Gillich and assistant coach Kim Wagner as Coaching Staff of the Year.

Seniors Paula Price (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro), Sam Smith (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg) and Moira Nugent (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) were selected to the First Team. The juniors selected to the First Team were Kim Amrod (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and Meghan McGlone (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh).

Senior defender Joyce Eveleth (State College, Pa./State College Area) was selected to the Second Team.

Head coach Caroline Gillich and assistant coach Kim Wagner have been honored as the Coaching Staff award winners for the second year in a row. Gillich helped lead the team to a perfect 6-0 regular season Landmark Conference record as well as a 16-4 overall showing.

Before the postseason started, Price led the Eagles with 16 goals and five assists for 37 points. She hit her 50th career goal milestone in the Landmark Conference semifinals to defeat Drew University, 1-0. Amrod trailed Price in statistics this season, with ten goals, six assists and 26 points. Juniata's two forwards were one-two in conference statistics for the majority of the regular season.

Smith has been a constant in the midfield throughout her entire career as a four-year starter. McGlone was a stronghold in the back this year for the Eagles and has been selected as first team all conference for three consecutive years. Eveleth has been a strong defensive force for the Eagles for four years.

Nugent has started in all 19 games this season, making 59 saves, giving her a save percentage of .728. She also has four shutouts going into the postseason.

Juniata College will host Catholic University for the Landmark Conference Championship game at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday Nov. 6. This will be the third time in four years in which Juniata has faced Catholic in the finals.
