HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- An all-out scoring battle in the first twenty minutes of the game made way for a lull in the second half and two overtime periods, tying Juniata College women's soccer with Franklin and Marshall College 2-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Winton Hill Field in non-conference action.

The Diplomats found the goalmouth first, with Holly Lagasse assisting Carley Nicholson ten minutes into the game. Molly Sellars (Caldwell, Nj./Caldwell) scored her second collegiate goal after scoring her first versus Scranton on Saturday. She was assisted by Erin Eddinger (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) in the 12th minute. Selena Boro was assisted by Carley Nicholson in the 13th minute putting the Diplomats up 2-1. Eddinger scored off of her second direct kick, after her first direct kick attempt hit the crossbar, matching the Diplomats 2-2.

After a long lull in the action, the Eagles picked up the pace with 20 minutes left in the second half. They had a flurry of opportunities, including Caitlin Bigelow's (La Mesa, Ca./The Academy of Our Lady of Peace) direct kick inside the 18-yard box which deflected off of a defender to go out of bounds.

Juniata outshot Franklin and Marshall 17-4 and had four corners compared to two from the Diplomats.

Juniata goalkeeper Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) saw all 110 minutes in goal, making one save and allowing two goals. Hannah Barry made eight saves for the Diplomats and also allowed two goals in 110 minutes.

The Eagles will have a bye weekend this Saturday and then compete in the Landmark Conference Semifinals next Wednesday. Semifinals will be hosted by the league's top two seeds. Results and locations will be finalized after the other teams in the league compete this Saturday.
