HUNTINGDON Pa. -- Two Juniata College student-athletes earned Landmark Conference Player of the Week honors for their outstanding efforts last week. Kim Amrod (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) was named Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week while Ezra Cassel (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) was named Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Juniata's junior forward Kim Amrod was a big offensive factor as the Eagles picked up two conference wins. She had a hand in both goals, assisting on the first and then scoring the game-winner as the team topped Susquehanna 2-1. She then capped the week by assisting on the first goal and scoring a late insurance tally in a 4-2 win over 13th-ranked Catholic.

Juniata field hockey earned two conference wins, topping Catholic and Susquehanna to remain unbeaten in the conference and extend their winning streak to eight. Juniata's win over no. 13 Catholic was its second win of the season over a ranked opponent.

Sophomore goalie Ezra Cassel helped Juniata earn a valuable point with a strong game in goal against Catholic. He allowed one goal in 110 minutes while stopping 17 shots, the highest single-match save total by a Landmark keeper this season. The 17 saves were 10 more than his previous single-match high this year and helped Juniata earn a 1-1 tie with Catholic.

The Eagles earned a 1-1 tie at home against Catholic after a midweek non-conference loss. It was the first time in four seasons Juniata has taken a point against the Cardinals, and the team's four points this year are the most it has earned in any season of Landmark play.
